The Allergy Testing offered at Optihealth assists in determining reactions that occur immediately ( IgE) and reactions that occur in a delayed reaction ( IgG).  The number of items tested may be a whole panel or a smaller limited number depending on the area of concern.  The advantages of this method used is that it increases accuracy of results as compared with traditional scratch testing that often is offered through your medical doctor and allergist.    The most comprehensive approach to food & environmental reactions would be to overlap sensitivity results with allergy results.

“Allergies” can follow two pathways either an Immunoglobulin E ( IgE) response which is an immediate reaction or an Immunoglobulin G ( IgG) response which is a delayed response. In an allergic reaction the mast cells in the immune system then release histamine to produce traditional allergy symptoms.  The traditional allergy symptoms include:  hives, swelling, itching eyes, running nose, headaches and sinus symptoms.
